Thank you for such an informative blog, I have recently been searching for details about this and yours is the best I have located so far. Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with cancer. There are three disciplines of oncology which include; surgical oncology that deals with the surgical part of cancer including biopsy, staging and resection of tumors. Medical oncology on the other hand deals with the treatment of cancer using medicine; it includes treatments such as chemotherapy. Radiation oncology deals with treatment of cancer using therapeutic radiation. Oncology therefore, is a branch of medicine that concentrates on cancer or tumors.
